Lead the Pricing function to develop, review, and govern insurance product pricing strategies that support profitable growth, regulatory compliance, capital efficiency, and customer value. The role partners closely with Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk, Valuation, and senior leadership to drive product innovation and portfolio performance.
Key Accountabilities
Product Pricing & Development
Lead pricing of new insurance products, riders, and product enhancements.
Ensure pricing assumptions are appropriate, sustainable, and aligned with business strategy.
Oversee profitability analysis and business case development for new initiatives.
Support product approval processes and interactions with regulators.
Portfolio Management
Monitor product profitability, experience trends, and pricing adequacy.
Recommend repricing, product redesign, or portfolio actions as needed.
Drive regular experience studies and assumption reviews.
Actuarial & Financial Analysis
Establish pricing methodologies, models, and governance standards.
Assess impacts of assumptions related to mortality, morbidity, lapse, expenses, and investment returns.
Evaluate capital, IFRS17, and financial implications of pricing decisions.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk, and Operations teams.
Present pricing recommendations to executive committees and senior management.
Provide pricing insights for strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
Governance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with actuarial standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain robust pricing controls, documentation, and model governance.
Support audits and independent model reviews.
People Leadership
Lead and develop the Pricing team.
Build actuarial and technical capability within the function.
Promote a high-performance and collaborative culture.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
Professional Qualifications
Fellow of a recognized actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FIAA, FASSA, etc.) preferred.
Experience
10–15+ years of actuarial experience with significant exposure to pricing.
Proven leadership experience managing actuarial teams.
Strong knowledge of life insurance products and actuarial valuation concepts.
Experience working with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
Technical Skills
Insurance pricing and product development.
Experience studies and assumption setting.
IFRS17 and capital management knowledge.
Advanced actuarial modelling and data analytics.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
