Summary

Processes daily all filings received for the Public Charities Division of the Secretary of State’s Office. This may include the filing of registration statements, applications for exemption, financial reports, contracts, and notice of solicitation for charitable organizations, raffles, professional fundraisers, fundraising counsel and commercial coventurers.

Answers telephone and email inquiries and assists walk-in customers regarding charitable organizations, raffles, and professional fundraisers.

This position will be responsible for opening, sorting and stamping daily mail.  Organizes, sorts and files all paperwork related to violations for charities, professional fundraisers and raffles.

Examples of duties

High school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. 

A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Proficient in basic computer skills.

Ability to communicate effectively.

QualificationsTwo (2) years of prior continuous customer service and data entry experience in a professional office environment.

Employment in this position will be contingent upon the following:

  • The starting salary for this position will be $39,000 - $40,255 depending upon experience.
  • An acceptable review of your past employment history, personal references, and other sources, including, but not limited to, the criminal reference check which will be conducted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
