SummaryPerforms manual labor assisting with the installation and repair of drainage features such as catch basins, pipe, signs etc. Uses hand tools to assist with patching and other pavement repairs.Serves as flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones. Assists with the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up maintenance work zones.
Operates small equipment, power and hand tools performing various maintenance tasks.
Operates standard dump trucks, hauling materials to and from job sites.
Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations may include extended hours and/or working 12-hour shifts.
Examples of duties
There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping and physically manipulating objects of varying size, shape, weight, and material. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. Supplemental information
