JOB PURPOSE 

The ERM Team Member will assist the Environmental Supervisor in the daily monitoring of lagoons and lagoon levels.  Assists in the maintenance of equipment associated with the lagoons such as sprinklers, pumps and motors. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS  

  • Assist coordinators in pumping procedures including paperwork and scheduling.  
  • Oversee routine maintenance on company equipment 
  • Apply extensive knowledge on sprinkler system and troubleshooting on irrigation motors.  
  • Ability to trouble shoot and knowledge on small motors 
  • Set up pumping equipment including but not limited to moving pipe, setting up risers, setting up reel rains and motors. 
  • Preform soil, water and lagoon effluent sampling at company sites 
  • Operate machinery for solids separation and compost process.  

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or 1-3 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.  Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.   
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred but not necessary. 
  • A valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations.  The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust. 

 

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
