ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a
Senior React Native Engineer
to own device and hardware integration for a new Android tablet-based POS platform, bridging the React Native application layer with physical restaurant hardware including payment terminals, Kitchen Display Systems, and printers. You will build native Android modules in Kotlin and Java, implement device communication over TCP/IP, sockets, and IoT protocols, design offline-first edge-compute topologies, and own the full Android device lifecycle including zero-touch provisioning and OTA updates. The role requires active use of AI-assisted development tools as part of daily engineering practice.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Integrate the POS with payment terminals, Kitchen Display Systems, kitchen printers, and other restaurant floor devices;
- Implement device communication for connected and disconnected states using TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, and IoT protocols;
- Build native Android modules using Kotlin and Java for hardware and protocol access and expose them to React Native through native modules and TurboModules;
- Design edge-compute and device topologies to ensure the POS continues operating during cloud connectivity outages;
- Implement zero-touch onboarding and fleet provisioning for Android tablets;
- Own the device lifecycle, including provisioning, monitoring, remote configuration, OTA updates, and decommissioning.
MUST HAVES

4+ years of software engineering experience, including hardware- or device-integrated systems

- Solid experience with
React Native and TypeScript
;
- Hands-on native Android development with
Kotlin and/or Java
, including building and bridging native modules to React Native;
- Strong knowledge of device and networking protocols, including
TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, and IoT protocols
;
- Experience with
offline-first application development
;
- Experience with
Android device fleet provisioning
, including zero-touch enrollment and device-owner or kiosk modes;
- Experience using
AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot
;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience migrating legacy Windows or OPOS POS systems to a cross-platform native stack;
- Experience with C, C++, or JNI for low-level device development;
- Experience with cloud IoT platforms such as AWS IoT Core or AWS Greengrass;
- Experience with cross-platform device frameworks such as Qt;
- Experience integrating payment terminals at the device level, including tokenization and payment gateways;
- Experience in the QSR or retail industry.
