Civil Engineer

Want to bring ideas to life?

At Aurecon, we design, engineer and advise on some of New Zealand's most complex and rewarding projects. Our Energy and Industrial team partners with clients across manufacturing, fuel, industrial infrastructure and the energy transition, helping shape the infrastructure that keeps communities and industries moving.

We're looking for a Civil Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working closely with clients and collaborating across disciplines to deliver practical, sustainable outcomes.

You'll join a flexible, supportive team where you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from fuel terminals and manufacturing facilities through to emerging renewable energy and industrial developments.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver civil design solutions across Energy and Industrial projects including industrial infrastructure, fuel terminals and manufacturing facilities.
  • Design earthworks, drainage and stormwater systems, retaining walls, underground services, pavements and site development works. Support practical engineering solutions that respond to site constraints and project delivery requirements.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations and technical reports using Civil 3D and CAD.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Support projects through design, construction monitoring and implementation phases, collaborating with contractors and site teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with New Zealand and offshore teams to deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

What you'll bring:

  • 2–5 years' experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
  • Experience designing earthworks, drainage and stormwater systems, retaining walls, underground services, site infrastructure or similar civil engineering packages.
  • Experience in Energy & Industrial, manufacturing, fuel or water infrastructure projects is advantageous but not essential. We also welcome candidates from land development, civil construction, project engineering and related sectors.
  • Experience working alongside contractors, site teams or during construction delivery and implementation phases will be highly regarded.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, CAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective client and stakeholder relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset, practical problem-solving ability, commercial awareness and a willingness to learn and develop within the Energy & Industrial sector. We're looking for adaptable engineers who are excited to broaden their experience and apply their skills to new challenges.
