Fort Knox celebrated its 25-year anniversary in 2021, and has produced over 8.5 million ounces since it began operation. In 2020, Kinross acquired Manh Choh – a project expected to commence production in 2024 and process ore at Fort Knox.

Job SummaryPerforms metallurgical test work, including cyanide leach tests, grind tests, screen analyses, gravity separation tests, Metallurgical sampling, and carbon quality control tests. Uses various analytical procedures and equipment to monitor reagent concentrations. Responsible for analyzing test results and making recommendations.
Essential Functions- 1. Preparing plant shift composite samples for assaying for metallurgical accounting.
2. Conducting bottle roll tests with a high level of accountability.
3. Operation and calibration of the pH meters, spectrophotometers, conductivity meters, and dissolved oxygen meters.
4. Operation of the lab equipment as but not limited to mechanized screens, pulverizers, rotary splitter, pressure filters, and gravity concentration units.
5. Working around reagents such as but not limited to Picric acid, Cyanide, Caustic, lime, and various strong acids.
6. Maintaining a clean work area and equipment.
7. Performing maintenance tasks on equipment that is within the scope of training and abilities and following SOP accordingly.
8. Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
9. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
10. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
11. Prepared to complete assigned jobs by the supervisor.
12. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
13. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations and keep records.
2. Previous experience in a laboratory environment with an understanding of chemistry preferred.
3. Knowledge of plant flow sheets, operations and functions preferred.
4. Thorough operational knowledge of computers and software, including Excel and Word.
5. Solid verbal and written communication problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
7. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
8. Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists and compliance with the company policies.
