Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Manager / Acquisition & CPO Advisor to join our growing team of specialists in Land Assembly and Regeneration to work on some of the largest and most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK. You will support the delivery of complex infrastructure, regeneration, housing, and development projects by leading land stakeholder engagement, devising approach strategies, negotiating agreements, conducting land acquisition, managing objections, or assembling land under Compulsory Purchase .
Working closely with public and private sector clients, you will provide strategic advice on land acquisition, consenting and assembly programmes, helping clients unlock development opportunities and deliver successful projects that create lasting positive impact for communities.
Role accountabilities:
· Lead and deliver land acquisition and land assembly projects across infrastructure, regeneration, and development schemes.
· Develop and implement engagement and acquisition strategies to mitigate objection risk and secure land and property interests through negotiation and agreement.
· Advise clients on Compulsory Purchase processes and statutory acquisition procedures.
· Oversee land referencing activities and coordinate specialist suppliers and consultants as required.
· Negotiate with landowners, occupiers, developers, local authorities, and other land stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
· Prepare and review project documentation, notices, Statements of Reasons, Statements of Case, and associated reports.
· Support planning, development, and infrastructure programmes by providing land and property related advice.
· Identify project risks and opportunities and provide mitigation strategies to clients and project teams.
· Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development opportunities and repeat work.
· Mentor, manage and support junior team members and contribute to the growth of the Land Assembly practice
· Innovate and optimise traditional ways of working for the benefit of clients and their objectives
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Arcadis to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
· Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with Arcadis quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified in Surveying, Real Estate, Geography, Planning, Property, or a related discipline.
Chartered status (MRICS).
Proven experience in land acquisition, land assembly, regeneration, infrastructure, or property advisory projects.
Strong understanding of compulsory purchase, land referencing, compensation principles, and stakeholder engagement and relevant consenting processes.
Experience negotiating with landowners, occupiers, public sector bodies, and other stakeholders.
Commercial awareness with the ability to innovate and manage projects, budgets, and client relationships.
