Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform administrative duties that require proficiency, accuracy, judgement, initiative, discretion, and knowledge of protocol. You will handle both routine and complicated items, such as coordinating travel, preparing expense reports, and composing correspondence. Your ability to anticipate problems and changing priorities will help bring efficiency and organization to your team.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide general administrative support to site leadership team, supervisors, and broader project teams as required,
  • Support the coordination of daily site administration activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional service delivery across the project,
  • Prepare, format, maintain, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, registers, meeting agendas, minutes, and action items,
  • Coordinate meetings, calendar bookings, visitor requirements, and general office arrangements,
  • Assist with mobilisation, demobilisation, onboarding, and site access requirements for project personnel and visitors,
  • Prepare and process travel documentation, expense reports, purchase requisitions,
  • Create and maintain accurate records, registers, contact lists, and administrative trackers to support site operations,
  • Handles complex administrative items independently​
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism and integrity
  • Independently anticipates problems and changing priorities; alerts manager and take action to adapt manager’s schedule/commitments accordingly​
  • Duties require accuracy, judgment, a high degree of initiative, discretion, diplomacy, and knowledge of protocol​
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, systems, filing structures, and communication flow across the site,
  • Support site communications, project notices, onboarding information, office guides, process documentation, and general administrative procedures,
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience​
  • Associate degree or related technical training preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Skills assessments may be administered to evaluate proficiency.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize administrative deliverables.
  • Experience working at a construction jobsite is a plus.  
  • Ability to work on a job where site conditions may change daily.
  • Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively while living and operating in a remote project location, maintaining personal wellbeing and professional performance in a camp-based and isolated environment.
