Project Overview:

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.
The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway.  

Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Supervise installation, inspection, alignment, preservation, testing, and commissioning support of static and rotating equipment in accordance with project specifications, OEM requirements, applicable codes, and approved procedures.
  • Lead installation of major mining and process plant equipment, including crushers, SAG mills, ball mills, conveyors, screens, apron feeders, pressure vessels, filters, compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, and pumps.
  • Supervise equipment setting, foundation verification, soleplate installation, shimming, leveling, grout installation, anchor bolt tensioning, torque control, and final acceptance.
  • Supervise installation and alignment of pumps, compressors, cooling fans, fin fan coolers, gearboxes, couplings, and shaft-driven equipment.
  • Coordinate heavy lifting activities using crawler cranes, mobile cranes, strand jacks, hydraulic gantries, SPMTs, and specialized lifting systems in accordance with approved lift plans.
  • Supervise installation, assembly, erection, testing, and commissioning of tower cranes, overhead cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, monorails, electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists, and lifting beams.
  • Supervise installation, testing, balancing, and commissioning support for HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, dampers, louvers, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate piping interfaces to rotating equipment, ensuring proper supports, flange management, bolt tightening, gasket installation, and compliance with allowable nozzle loads.
  • Supervise preservation activities for mechanical equipment during storage, installation, and pre-commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, ITPs, inspection records, hold and witness points, NCR resolution, punch list management, and turnover documentation.
  • Coordinate with Field Engineering, QA/QC, Survey, HSE, Procurement, Vendors, and Commissioning teams to resolve technical issues and maintain construction progress.
  • Monitor productivity, manpower, subcontractor performance, construction progress, and installation sequencing to achieve project milestones.
  • Develop and monitor short-term construction plans, including 3-week look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, equipment requirements, and work-front availability.
  • Ensure implementation of Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) requirements, Safety Management Plans, and company construction processes.
  • Conduct field inspections to monitor safety, quality, testing readiness, productivity, and construction performance.
  • Maintain accurate construction records, including progress, manpower utilization, site status, and field issues.
  • Perform and verify rotating equipment alignment using both dial indicator (Rim & Face, Reverse Dial) and laser alignment systems, including soft foot correction, TIR verification, DBSE calculations, thermal growth compensation, piping strain checks, flange offset/parallelism, and final alignment after piping connection within OEM tolerances.
  • Review mechanical drawings, vendor manuals, method statements, lifting studies, work packs, commissioning procedures, and construction schedules to ensure safe and efficient field execution.
  • Maintain compliance with project HSE requirements, Permit-to-Work, lifting procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space requirements, and safe work practices.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to perform extensive field inspections within active construction environments.
  • Capable of walking long distances, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights, and accessing confined spaces as required for inspection and construction activities.
  • Ability to work in hot and humid climatic conditions typical of Middle East construction projects.
  • Must be capable of using all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) associated with assigned construction activities.
