SummarySummary Objective

The purpose of this position is to ensure that products, applications, and systems work correctly and meet business needs in a secure and efficient manner. Collaborate with users to track requirements, system issues, reporting needs, and enhancement requests. Perform integration testing, functional testing, user interface testing, data testing, report validation, and user acceptance testing.

This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Examples of duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Analyzes business processes, system functionality, and data to draw business-relevant conclusions.

  • Helps design, document and maintain system processes, training materials, and user guidance.

  • Provides production support and communicates system defects, user issues, and enhancement needs to resolve open issues.

  • Analyzes system requirements, business rules, data issues, report development, and addresses any relevant problems.

  • Writes SQL queries to support system research, data validation, report development, troubleshooting, and business analysis.

  • Supports the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through continuous improvement, process analysis, report improvement, and user support.

  • Develops and performs quality assurance and testing.

  • Creates and executes test plans for software enhancements, reports, interfaces, and system changes.

  • Stays up to date with current technologies and technical developments.

  • Trains and provides technical assistance to users on system functionality, reports, system processes, and related procedures.

  • Performs standard testing and assists the development team in providing solutions to ensure high levels of quality, performance, usability, and security.

  • Serves as a liaison between business units, system users, and technical/programming staff to help translate business needs into system requirements, testing scenarios, reports, and process documentation.

  • Assists with building, validating, and maintaining tax system reports and Power BI reports.

  • Performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Communications, Computer Science or related discipline.

  • One (1) year of systems analysis, data analysis, quality assurance, or applications development experience.

EQUIVALENCY

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted.

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
