Our client is a large real estate developer and owner is hiring an Asset Manager to oversee the performance of properties in their portfolio. The role works closely with property management, construction, and development teams. It's a hands-on position covering financial analysis, compliance, and risk management across a multi-state portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly property financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance reports, to support performance reporting for leadership, lenders, and investors.
  • Evaluate compliance risk related to Section 42 (LIHTC) requirements, partnership agreements, loan documents, LURAs, QAPs, and tax credit applications.
  • Analyze property performance, valuations, and market trends to shape strategies that maximize asset value.
  • Share operational feedback with construction and development teams to guide design, leasing, financing, and disposition decisions on new projects.
  • Support due diligence for acquisitions, capitalizations, and dispositions.
  • Run regular asset calls and site visits with property management teams to track budget and goal performance, and identify corrective action when needed.
  • Negotiate and monitor leases, management agreements, vendor contracts, and utility contracts to protect ownership interests.
  • Manage resolution strategies for insurance claims and tenant legal matters, including non-payment and fraud cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years of multi-family asset management experience on the General Partner side.
  • Working knowledge of Section 42 (LIHTC) requirements.
  • Strong MS Excel proficiency and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to travel for annual property inspections. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, or Business.
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or MRI Developer Central.
  • Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills.
  • Understanding of real estate accounting and financial reporting, with the ability to analyze variances.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents including leases, contracts, loan documents, and regulatory agreements.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working independently and as a strategic partner within a team.
