Examples of duties

This position has responsibilities that require lifting up to 50-100 pounds on occasion.

  • Provides service to the general public by scanning the water to monitor activities, informing customers of upcoming events and answering inquiries.

  • Ensures the safety of the general public by enforcing pool rules and regulations, monitoring activities and providing assistance when necessary.

  • Assisting swimmers at risk of drowning and providing first aid.

  • Regular and dependable attendance is required. 

  • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.
Qualifications

Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:

  • Education: Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.  Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.

  • Experience: Swimming skills are required. Interview consists of a swim test of 100 yards without stopping and retrieving a 10lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swimming with brick to the top without stopping.

  • Licenses: None.

  • Certifications Required: Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid. Training will be provided upon hire.
