SummaryThe umpire oversees all aspects of the game and is responsible for calling balls, strikes, the bases and the rules outlined for the league. 

There is one umpire per game for the Town's recreation Youth Summer Baseball games. 

Pre-season training material is provided and will be reviewed prior to the start of the season.

Umpires are responsible for completing accident/incident reports as needed, and notifying the Recreation Supervisor. 

Season: 7 weeks

Hours: Approximately 3 to 6 hours per week.  Games are played during week nights.   Games are 2 hours - Umpires are paid for 2.5 hours (includes 15 minutes before and after each game).  Examples of dutiesMust have experience with fast pitch softball or playing fast pitch softball at a competitive level.  National Umpires Association certification is preferred.  CPR and First Aid Certification required. Background check required.
