Our client is looking for a
detail-oriented, mature and reliable Accountant
to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone from a

completed their trainee articles
and is ready to take the next step in their accounting career.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that include financial statements and consolidated statements.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation: Capture, review, reconcile, and balance controls. Maintain fixed asset registers. Oversee the debtor’s department.
- Compliance: Ensure transactions comply with general accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and local tax regulations. Ensure compliance with relevant departments (CIPC, TC, etc.) is up to date.
- Budget and Analysis: Provide variance analysis comparing actuals against forecasts and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Team Leadership: Delegate tasks, mentor junior staff, and streamline daily accounting processes.
Requirements
- Education: A bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial field.
- Certification: Professional qualifications such as CA(SA), CPA or CMA are highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with modern accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, Microsoft BC).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem solving, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate complex financial data to non-financial employees.
- To investigate and roll-out a new accounting, bookings system for one of the companies.
